DAV Public School Clinches Top Positions in DAV National Sports (Girls) Tournament

Amritsar, Dec. 18 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School, Lawrence Road clinched Top Positions in DAV National Sports Tournament for Girls. The tournament  was held under the  auspices of DAV CMC, New Delhi at DAV International School, Amritsar . The school emerged winner in  Badminton and Lawn Tennis. School Badminton Team is as follow:  Position : Winner  (Gold Medal) 1. Noor A Singh – VIII, 2. Soumya Kapoor – VIII, 3. Sukriti Kapoor – IX, 4. Soumya Khanna – X, 5.Manya Khanna – X. School Lawn Tennis Team is as follows :  Position : Winner (Gold Medal)  1. Nimrat  Kang- VIII, 2. Alisha Menon – VII.

In Athletics , Kanwarbir Kaur of Std IX bagged 2 Gold Medals in Shot put and Discus Throw respectively.

In  Swimming , Drishti of Std VIII bagged 5 medals . She won 2 Gold Medals  in 200 m backstroke and 100 m butterfly, 2 Silver Medals in Individual Medley and 200 M butterfly and 1Bronze Medal in 50 M back stroke.

Regional Director Amritsar Zone Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road, Amritsar and the Manager of the school Dr. K.N. Kaul OSD DAV University, Jalandhar congratulated the students for their fabulous performance. They said that students must create a balance between studies and extra curriculur activities for their overall development. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school congratulated  the students and the teachers for this brilliant  achievement. She added that she was happy at the performance of her students and want  to see them representing their country at the International Level.
