Amritsar, June 8 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Cabinet Minister Mr. Harbhajan Singh ETO inaugurating the widening of the road (Gunowal) from 10 feet to 18 feet from Jandiala Vairowal Road and Malhian to Jandiala Vairowal Road via Taragarh at a cost of 10 crores. He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to the announcement, the road will be widened in Punjab and This is the beginning of this task. He said that Gunowal to Jandiala Vairowal road will be widened from 10 feet to 18 feet at a cost of around three crores and the work is targeted to be completed in six months. He said that the upgradation of this road will facilitate transportation in Gunowal, Jandiala, Dheere Kot, Taragarh, Mallian, Dharad, Timmowal and other villages.
He said that along with the road near Gunowal village, retaining wall and drain will also be constructed. So that rain water will not stay on the road. The PWD Minister said that the state government will widen and strengthen the road from Amritsar Jalandhar Road (Malliyan) to Jandiala Vairowal Road via Taragarh under the NABARD-28 scheme. The length of this road is 5.80 km and the existing width is 10 feet, which is now to be increased from 10 feet to 18 feet. He said that the tender process for this work has been completed and the target has been set to complete this work in 6 months.
The Cabinet Minister said that this road connects Amritsar Jalandhar Road (Mallian) with Jandiala Vairowal Road and with the upgradation of this road, nearby villages Mallian, Taragarh, Dharar, Jandiala, Timmowal, Ballia Manjpur, Narayangarh and Bhaini Sidhwan etc. are included. There will be a lot of relief and he said that this road will be made 18 feet wide and BM and PC will be found on the entire road. He said that apart from this UBDC of Gunowal village. The bridge will be made 23 feet wide at a cost of about two and a half crore rupees.
Harbhajan Singh ETO He further said that according to the demand of the residents of Taragarh village, a retaining wall will be constructed on the side of the road near the village so that the road is not damaged on the spot.
