Ritu Utsav At DAV Public School

Amritsar, Dec. 22 (Punjab Post Bureau) – With the blessings of Arya Ratan Sh.Punam Suri ji, (President of DAV CMC, New Delhi and the able guidance of the Principal Dr.Neera Sharma, the junior wing of DAV Public School, Lawrence Road , Amritsar at 5 Cantt. came alive with varied colours of nature on 21st  Dec, 2014. The Annual Art and Craft exhibition ‘Ritu Utsav’ was held , where 3000 children showcased their creative skill through craft items and drawings made by them . It was one of a kind experience where all major seasons were deftly depicted. The Spring Corner had rows of beautifully handcrafted flowers made from disposable spoons , glass and paper. Summer season had all the delights of this season ranging from clothes to eatables and the fun activities of  Rainy season reminded people of their Childhood . Autumn season had leaves of all kinds made from waste material and the Winter season corner had snow clad mountains. The highlight of the Exhibition included the picture time with Santa. The Chief guest of the Exhibition was honourable Sh.J.P.Shoor (Director PS – I Aided Schools, DAV CMC, New Delhi). He appreciated the efforts of the tiny tots and insisted that if these children are taught to respect the environment at an early stage, it will help to keep the Earth alive and in return will help our survival. Regional Director of the School Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra , Principal BBK DAV College for Women and the Manager of the school Dr.K.N. Kaul OSD DAV  University Jalandhar congratulated the staff & the students for the success of the  event. The other luminaries who were present on the day included  Principal Ajay Beri, Sushil Luthra, Principal Paramjeet  Kumar, Principal  Dr. Anita Menon, Principal Sanjeev Kochar and Captain Sanjeev Sharma. Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school said that it was important to teach students to take care of nature. She added that such activities where students realise the importance of nature and understand its value can help in securing our future. She said that the aim of the exhibition to spread awareness among people about the joys of nature and the need to respect and protect it was successfully met.
