MCA and Traffic Police continued joint operation on heritage street to remove encroachments

Amritsar, June 27 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Officials of Municipal Corporation Amritsar and Traffic Police Amritsar continued its joint operation on Heritage Street to remove encroachments. A joint operation was conducted by the administration Heritage street to remove encroachments on the roads and footpaths resulting in seizure of eight  full trucks of  goods which the encroachers were selling on the roads. Three trucks full load of encroached material was seized and deposited in the corporation store.

In   joint operation Amritsar Traffic Police Incharge  ADCP Harpal Singh, SHO City Kotwali and Estate Officer of Municipal Corporation Amritsar Dharminderjit Singh with teams again visited heritage street  to check the encroachments as a warning was already given to the shopkeepers and vendors to not to encroach the roads and footpaths but despite repeated warnings, a lot of material was lying on the roads and footpaths which the teams seized and three full trucks of loads was captured and sent to the municipal stores which will not be given back to the encroachers in any way.

In a joint statement by Municipal Corporation Amritsar & Traffic Police Amritsar,  again warned  not to encroach this heritage street as lacs of pilgrims daily visit Shri Darbar sahib and other historical places and with their encroachments, a greet inconvenience is caused to them.  It is also said that government does not want to affect the poor people but to maintain law & order this action was necessary and it is further said that these seized goods will not be released at any cost. Local administration further appeals to the shopkeepers to keep their goods within their shops. These operations will continue in future.
