Amritsar, November 25 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Punjab State Art Exhibition 2024 was inaugurated at KT:Kalã Museum Amritsar, featuring over 160 artworks including paintings, drawings, and sculptures in a variety of mediums, styles, and forms. This exhibition marks yet another milestone in the museum’s journey to promote art and culture.
The event was inaugurated on 24th November 2024 by Padma Shri Harmohinder Singh Bedi, Chancellor of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh. In his keynote address, he lauded KT:Kalã Museum’s dedication to the promotion and preservation of art in the region. He described the exhibition as a celebration of art, culture, and creativity, bringing together artists, art enthusiasts, and cultural connoisseurs under one roof.
The Chief Guest also inaugurated two murals on the walls of KT:Kalã Museum created by Sumeet Dua.
In his opening remarks, Director Brajesh Jolly highlighted that over 450 artworks were received, of which 160 were selected by a distinguished jury for display. He announced that 10 cash awards of ₹10,000 each were presented to professional artists and 10 awards of ₹5,000 each were given to budding artists. Additionally, 20 Highly Commended Awards were conferred to recognize artistic excellence.
Secretary Rajesh Raina welcomed the Chief Guest and other dignitaries, introducing the esteemed profile of the Chief Guest. Treasurer Dr. K.R. Tuli provided insights into the work of KAUSA Trust. Mrs. Swaroop Dar, Chairperson, extended heartfelt gratitude to the participating artists for their overwhelming response.
A catalogue featuring the selected artworks and detailed information about the exhibition was unveiled during the ceremony. As a gesture of appreciation, a painting was presented to the Chief Guest.
It is noteworthy that, in keeping with the tradition of KAUSA Trust, no entry or participation fees were charged for this exhibition. The exhibition is open to the public from 24th to 30th November 2024, offering a unique opportunity to experience the creativity and innovation of Punjab’s vibrant artistic community.
Prominent personalities present includes Ms. Nisha Ghai, Principal Rajni Arora, Dr. Lalit Gopal Parashar, Sumeet Dua, Kulwant Singh Gill, Dharminder Sharma, Mala Chawla, Bharti Malhotra, Narinder Singh, Vanshika Luthra, Poonam Luthra and several other artists and art enthusiasts graced the occasion.
