National Legal Services Authority Legal Aid to socially & economically weakers

 Amritsar, Jan 23 (Punjab Post Bureau) – National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi established under Legal Services Authority Act, 1987 with a prime object to provide Free Legal Aid to socially and economically weaker sections of the society will be participating in the Republic Day Parade this year on 26^th January. The participation of National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi shall be through a Tableaux depicting the scenes of Lok Adalat, Village Legal Care and Support Centre and the Jail Clinic. The aim of Lok Adalat is to settle the disputes amicably between the parties and these Lok Adalat provide a speedy and effective disposal of cases between the parties through settlement. Village Legal Care and Support Centre have been established for providing free legal aid to the people at their door step. Since any person in custody whether a convict or an undertrial is entitled to free legal aid as a matter of right, legal aid clinic has been established by District Legal Services Authority, Amritsar for providing free legal aid to convicts and undertrials.
