Ultra-Modern Khalsa Diagnostic Lab (KDL), Research Centre unveiled

Amritsar, Jan. 24 (Dharmender Singh  Rataul)- A multi-crore hi-tech Khalsa Diagnostic Laboratory (KDL) and modern research block was today unveiled at Khalsa College of Pharmacy (KCP) here today. The lab, equipped with latest technology and machines, would offer best of pathological tests and services to the residents of border areas, said Khalsa College Governing Council President Satyajit Singh Majithia who inaugurated facility.

The KDL, he said was primarily meant for the research work of the College’s post graduate classes but would be available to general public for diagnosis of diseases through pathology tests. He said in the beginning 92 tests would be conducted but later on these would be enhanced to 144 which would include testing of the cancer and other deadly disease. “The services at the door steps of the people would be provided at this lab’’, said he.

He said the lab was equipped with world-class technology and latest automatic machines to conduct the blood, urine and other tests. “None of the lab in this border area can match with this facility as for as latest technology is concerned’’, said KCGC honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina adding that testing is entirely through machines, untouched by human hands’. He stated that in the age of commercialization, the lab would provide best of the services at comparatively affordable and concessional prices and packages for various tests would be available. He said the highly qualified staff would carry the tests. “The special packages would be available for the students of Khalsa institutions’’, said Chhina.

KCP Principal Dr.Ravi Kumar Dhawan said the machines from Japan, Germany had been imported for the lab facility would be available to general masses. “No doubt the lab and research block would help in the research work on the campus’’, he said adding they were already running the Drugs Diagnostic facility where any drugs substance can be tested for its contents’’, said Dr.Dhawan. KCGC joint secretaries including Gunbir Singh, Nirmal Singh, Ajmer Singh Heir, SS Manan, Rajbir Singh, Principals of various Khalsa institutions and members and officials of the KCGC were present.
