Performance of AAP in Delhi assembly elections will have no ramifications in Punjab
Amritsar, Feb. 8 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal along with his wife Harsimrat Kaur Badal Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries, paid obeisance at Golden Temple and partook in the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib.
On the side lines of the visit, answering a media query pertaining to exit polls conducted by major news organizations regarding the elections in the national capital, Deputy Chief Minister said that we respect the opinion of various psephologists but the ground level response will be different and added that in a three cornered contest accuracy of exit polls fall. He said that the last results of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Elections 2012 bear a testimony to the fact that ground reality can be very different from the exit polls.
Answering yet another question regarding impact of towering status of Aam Adami Party, Mr. Badal said that performance of AAP in Delhi Assembly elections will have no ramifications in Punjab. He said that Talwandi Sabo by-election has already proved that AAP has lost its impact in political landscape of the State and Dhuri by-election will confirm the same.
Replying to a question pertaining to willfully stalling projects started by Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu former MP from Amritsar, Deputy Chief Minister said that the projects do not belong to Mr.Sidhu or any other politician for that matter; they are initiated and implemented by government as per the requirements of the people. Same is the case of projects pertaining to development of the holy city, said he and added that much more is being done as compared to what had been announced earlier. He said that one after the other all the projects will see the light of the day and in a phased manner the work will be carried out.
When asked about fairness of BJP in taking support of the followers of Dera Sacha Sauda despite ‘Messenger Of God’ controversy in SAD-BJP governed Punjab, Mr. Badal said that it is for BJP to decide what has to be its course of action and said that they would be the right authority to comment on the same.
