Amritsar, Apr. 6 ( Punajb Post Bureau) – Deepak Chandel of the ECE Department of Global Institutes emerged as ‘Man of the Series’ as well as clinched the ‘Best Batsman’ title on the concluding day of the ‘Global T-10 Cricket Premier League -2015’ organized by the Global Institutes.
Deepak Khosla of the winning CSE team was declared Best Bowler for taking 7 wickets in the tournament and Deepak Chandel won the title of Best Batsman by scoring 80 runs in the tournament.
The team of Computer Science and Engineering- (CSE ) lifted the ‘Global T-10 Cricket Premier League -2015’ trophy trouncing the team of Electronic and Communication Engineering (ECE) by piling 89 runs in 10 overs while the rivals ECE could score only 83 in 10 overs and lost by 6-runs.
Earlier Chairman Global Insitutes Dr. B. S. Chandi declared the tournament open at an impressive ceremony. He released the tournament plaque which was carried up in the sky by multi colored balloons. Vice-Chairman, Dr. Akashdeep Singh said that sports improve the efficiency and also contribute to physical and mental growth of Students. Games should be an integral part of curriculum as they offer healthy entertainment promote competitiveness and team spirit.
The winning CSE team included Deepak Khosla, Inderpal Singh, Angad Singh Bal, Harmanpreet Singh, Dines Rana, Rajat Jastoria, Amit Dogra, Anoop Thapar, Rishab Khosla, Satsawar Gupta, Tushar, Sonu Kumar, Palav Kumar, Karampreet Singh, Harmanpreet Singh.
A total of 8-student teams from Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, MBA, MCA, Polytechnic and B.Sc departments led by respective captains Harpreet Singh Singh (Captain ECE), Akhil Bashir (Captain Civil), Gurpreet Singh (Captain B.Sc), Rahul Sharma (Captain MCA), Sartaj Singh (Captain Polytechnic), Rakesh Kumar(Captain ME), Angad Singh (Captain CSE), Honey (Captain MBA), participated in the league.
The runners-up ECE team included Deepak Sharma, Deepak Chandel, Navneet Singh Golan, Sarthak Mahajan, Raju, Rupinder Singh, Kanav Sehgal, Rizwan, Paras mani, harpreet Singh, Amit Kumar, Shubham Arora, Vishwas, Rajkaran Singh , Rajat Ghai.
