World Press Freedom Day celebrated by SEWA in association with International Fateh Academy

Jandiala Guru, May. 4 (Harinderpal Singh, Varinder Singh) – In the world of today, media has become as necessary as food and clothing. It has played significant role in strengthening the society. Media is considered as “mirror” of the modern society, infect, it is the media which shapes our lives. SEWA (Social Educational Welfare Association) in association with International Fateh Academy celebrated World Press Freedom day on Sunday, 3^rd May.

               The students of IFA presented their love and affection towards their media partner by putting up a skit which was an insight of the life of a press reporter. Every press reporter was overwhelmed by watching the student displaying their life on the stage. This event was augmented with the presence of Mr. Rohit Gupta (SDM Amritsar) as Chief Guest and Mr. P S Sahni (Vice President, PTC), Mr. Surender Kochhar (Historian), Sunil Devgan (PTC), Mr. R.P Sharma (Jagbani), Ms. Menakshi (Ekta Lehar) as Guests of Honor.

                  Addressing the the gathering S. Jagbir Singh (Chairman, IFA) said that media has played significant role in making world a global village and to reduce the communication gaps amongst the people living in the far areas.  All the reporters from the various newspapers were rewarded as to honor their profession and the power of press. Further Chief Guest Mr. Rohit Gupta (SDM Amritsar) accepting the problems of press reporters promised to take their voice to the higher authorities. The day ended at with a cheerful note as the press reports got a platform to speak out their problems and were assured that their problems will be resolved shortly.
