DAV Red Cross School Special Children Won Gold Medals

Amritsar, June 1 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Nine differently abled students of DAV Red Cross School for Special Children brought laurels to the school by winning 15 medals- 6 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 5 bronze medals at State level MYAS Special Olympics. These games were hold at Khalsa College Senior Secondary School, Amritsar from 29-May-2015 to 31-May-2015. Principal Dr. Neera Sharma) informed that total 300 players from 12 Districts of Punjab participated in these games. In hearing impaired category Vikramjit of the school bagged 2 gold medals- one in 200 mt race and other in shot put. Similarly Anushica Sharma won gold in 100 mts. race and 4^th position in 50 mt race, Shruti won gold in 200 mts and silver in 100 mt race, Maninder bagged silver in 200 mts and Balgarj won bronze in short put. Vikramjit, Balraj, Maninder and Shruti won bronze in 400 mts. relay race.

In intellectually challenged group Rupinder and Harleen bagged gold and Karina &Manpreet won silver medals in bocce event. Among cultural events also team of the school bagged first position and cash prize of Rs 5100.
