DAV Celebrates Baisakhi with Fun & Frolic

Amritsar, Apr. 12 ( Punjab Post Bureau)- The jubiliation and enthusiasm of Baisakhi was apparent as the students of DAV Public School, Lawrence  Road celebrated the  festival of bounty and  prosperity in its premises. The vibrant festival of Baisakhi is an important festival of Punjab. Besides being a harvest festival , it is considered as an auspicious beginning  of the new  year. On this day in 1875 , Swami Dayanand   Saraswati founded Arya Samaj for spiritual  guidance and on the same day in 1699 , the tenth Guru of Sikhs, Guru  Gobind Singh ji ,  founded Khalsa Panth.  The morning assembly of the school reverberated with joyous songs and loud cheers as the students decked up in colourful clothes performed bhangra at the beat of the dhol. The students also  read out the history and significance of Baisakhi and recited self composed poems to mark the occasion. Regional Director Amritsar Zone Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College for Women Amritsar and the Manager of the school Dr. K.N. Kaul Principal DAV College, Amritsar sent their best wishes to the students on this occasion. They said that this day is a ‘Thanks  giving day’ , so the students must thank God for the good life granted to them .  Dr. Neera Sharma Principal of the school also congratulated the students and the staff on this day . She blessed the students for good  health, prosperity and success in life.
