Town Hall to get complete heritage look- Reviews development of projects in a high level meeting
Amritsar, Sept. 12 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Sukhbir Singh Badal today issued strict instructions to all authorities involved in the ongoing development projects in the holy city for timely completion of projects with 100 percent perfection and quality work.
Mr. Badal, who was in the city to pay obeisance at Golden Temple and paid personal visit to various sites with ongoing development works, said reiterated that the dream dreamt by SAD-BJP government to develop Amritsar one of the most planned and developed city in the country was not far from reality as the unprecedented development was going on good pace. He said that Urban Haat will be developed, which will showcase the unique food culture as well as handicrafts of the holy city of Amritsar along different means of entertainment of common masses. He said the best such establishments would be invited for this purpose so they could run their ventures here in the heart of city in front of Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital complex. He said this project will be concluded at a cost of Rs. 2 crore within stipulated time frame of one year.
Accompanied by Local Bodies Minister Mr. Anil Joshi Mr. Badal also reviewed the progress of BRTS, under construction state of the art entrance gate of Amritsar besides personally visiting these sites. He also visited Gobindgarh Fort to take a stock of work. He said that the work on this prestigious BRTS project was at full swing. He said that by the end of February next the project would become operational. Mr. Badal also directed the authorities to maintain heritage look right from the entrance of the Fort.
Taking stock of ongoing work of world class façade from Hall Gate to Golden Temple, Mr. Badal said this entire passage should be free from electric wires as the powercom has been directed in this regard. He also maintained that Heritage look will be given to Town Hall to Golden Temple Plaza.
