Capacity Building Workshops held at DAV Public School

Amritsar, Oct. 17 (Punjab Post Bureau) –  A series of workshops for English, Maths, Science , Music , Computer , Fine Arts and Library staff were held at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road, on today under the aegis  of DAV Centre for Academic Excellence, New Delhi. These workshops are aimed at capacity building in various disciplines and formulating better and innovative teaching techniques for better and effective class – room teaching. 97 teachers from DAV Public School, DAV International School, MKD DAV Public School, Attari, GND DAV School , Bhikhiwind, Police DAV Public School and DAV Red Cross School and JRS DAV Public School  Chabals attended these workshops. Various brainstorming and interactive sessions, power point presentations, group activities and discussions were carried out  to formulate ways and means for dealing with the constantly changing and dynamic education scenario. The participants had enough scope for learning from each other and sharing their own ideas. The workshop was inaugurated by Regional Director Dr.(Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road. She expressed her pleasure at the enthusiasm shown by the participants and resource persons and exhorted the participants to learn new things and share new ideas with each other . These workshops were aimed at making the teacher trained in using technology and other teaching aids to enhance their teaching  the resources for these workshops were as follows : Mrs.Harpreet Oberoi and Mrs.Anuradha Sharma for Science, Mrs.Sonia Mehta and Mrs.Priyanka Sharma for English , Mrs.Simmi Sahni and Mrs.Ruminder Chimni for Maths, Co – curricular activities Incharge Ms. Shama Sharma and Mr.Narinder Kumar for Music, Mrs. Kanwarjit Kaur ( Dolly) for Fine Art and Mrs.Kanchan Sharma from Police DAV Public School , Jalandhar for Library. Model Lesson Plans  were presented by participants and techniques like role play and usage of activities was discussed . The format for test papers and assessment was also discussed and individual queries were addressed . Regional Director Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College for Women was immensely pleased by the initiative instead that these workshops are positive step towards developing and understanding for new techniques and tact fully dealing with class room situations. School Manager Dr. Rajesh Kumar Principal DAV College also showered his blessings upon the participants and encouraged them to constantly strive  for excellance. Principal Dr. Neera Sharma, welcomed  the participating  teachers and encouraged them to interact and learn  from each other on this common platform  and grow better and brighter as educators.
