
Amritsar, Nov. 7 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Department of Sciences, DAV College organized Eureka-V festival today. In this science festival, more than 20 different schools and 10 colleges participated zealously. The students participated in three main events like Poster Presentation, Model Presentation and Quiz Competition. The students presented excellent innovative ideas ranging from scientific discoveries, latest development in science and technology and general sciences.
Mr Sandeep Rishi, Chief Administrator, Amritsar Development Authority graced the event as Chief Guest and appreciated the efforts of students. Mr Sudershan Kapoor, Chairman, Local Managing Committee was Guest of Honour on this occasion. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sandeep Rishi acquainted the students with global scenario in the field of science. He added that students should be given basic understanding of scientific knowledge and they should focus on current environmental problems.
Interacting with students, Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar said that our College has been organizing this festival annually from last five years. He also stated that the main aim behind organizing this festival is to promote scientific aptitude among students. Such festival helps in infusing in to the young minds, the need to protect our environment by innovative ideas. Students of different colleges and schools presented their models on various themes related to sciences.
Prof H.S Walia, Vice Principal, Dr Daisy Sharma, College Administrator, Dr Sanjay Sharma, Staff Secretary, Dr Neeru Gupta, Dr Rajni Khanna, Dr Vikas Gupta, Dr Ashish Gupta, Dr Neerja Kalia, Dr Ajay Kumar, Dr Neeraj Gupta, Prof Rajiv Arora, Prof Manpreet and Prof Maninder kaur were also present on the occasion.
