Sports Indoor Stadium inaugurated at BBKDAV College

Amritsar. Nov. 20 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Sports Indoor Stadium was inaugurated by Arya Ratan Sh. Punam Suri, President, DAV College Managing Committee and Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Sabha, New Delhi. Dr.(Mrs). Neelam Kamra, Principal, BBKDAV College, Sh. J.P. Shoor, Director, Public Schol-1, Minister, Arya Pradeshik Pratinidhi Upsabha, Punjab, Mrs. Neera Sharma, Principal, DAV College and Mrs. Sweety Bala, Head, Sports department gave a floral welcome to Sh. Punam Suri and Smt. Mani Suri. The students of sports department showcased their talent by performing various activities in gymnastics and rope mulkhumb.

While speaking on the occasion, Dr. (Mrs). Neelam Kamra thanked the Chief Guest and disclosed that constructing this indoor stadium was made possible with UGC grant of Rs 1.70 crore. She said that this college has always excelled in all spheres, be it academics, sports or cultural. This stadium is one of the biggest achievements for the college as it is a multipurpose indoor stadium where students can practice all indoor games namely table tennis, yoga, rope mulkhumb and taekwondo. This stadium will enable the students to practice as per their convenience.

Sh. Punam Suri while expressing his views on the occasion said that sports students are the most disciplined ones. And by such facilities in college, students will get a platform to perform better. Besides this, a book named ‘Yug Drishta and Yug Srishta Swami Dayanand’ was also released. This book was written by joint efforts of ‘ Swami Dayanand Study Centre’.  Annual bulletin of DAV Red Cross was also inaugurated on the occasion.
