Special Assembly Conducted by Resource Room Children

Amritsar, Dec. 14 (Punjab Post Bureau)-  The resource room students of Class IV and V of DAV Public School Lawrence Road conducted a special assembly based upon the theme ‘The Heartwarming Shade of Grandparents’. The resource room students comprise of students with learning limitations, learning disabilities and slow learners and they are given specialized education and personal attention to overcome learning difficulties. These children under the guidance of special educator, Mrs Nisha Tuteja, prepared a complete presentation related to the importance of grandparents. They presented a role play depicting the value of grandparents, a song dedicated to the fun brought to life by the presence grandparents and also recited poems related to their grandparents. The entire assembly was conducted by the children including the prayer, announcements, pledge and thought for the day. The efforts of these special children were highly appreciated and applauded by all.

Regional Director Amritsar Zone Dr. (Mrs) Neelam Kamra, Principal BBK DAV College for Women and Manager of school Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal DAV College appreciated this initiative of the students. They said that it would surely help the students to enhance their learning capabilities, gain more confidence and would serve as a revolutionary step for inclusive education in the times to come. The principal Dr. Neera Sharma, was all praises for this presentation and she felt extremely happy at the appreciation and affection shown by children towards their grandparents, since she herself is a doting grandmother.
