
Amritsar, Jan 9 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Under the aegis of DAV CAE, Regional Training Centre (Amritsar Zone) DAV CMC, New Delhi, a two day Capacity Building Programme for Teachers teaching English to Std VI to Std X was held at DAV Public School, Lawrence Road. The workshop was inaugurated by the Regional Director, Punjab Zone A, Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra. While addressing the participants, she said that the objective of these workshops was to bring a qualitative improvement in the teaching – learning process with the aim of enhancing learner achievement. She added that being educators, we must always upgrade ourselves to deal with changing trends in education. She interacted with the teachers and enthused in them the desire to learn and perform.
25 teachers from 15 school under Amritsar Zone, participated in the workshop. Ms. Anita Chawla from DAV Public School and Mrs. Aradhana Singh from DAV International School were the resource persons for the workshop. Both the resource persons are Master Trainers in their field and conducted the workshop on enhancing language skills and grammar among students. The workshop was an interactive one where they stressed on the use of power point presentations and use of other visual medium for better understanding.
Many activities were performed during the workshop which the teachers can use in their class to encourage the students and motivate them to enhance their skills. They distributed handouts and other worksheets which the teachers can use in their class and also touched the intricacies of lesson planning. In the end the queries of the Teachers were taken up. The workshop was a huge success as many new techniques were discussed.
Dr. Neera Sharma , Principal DAV Public School thanked the Chief Guest and all the participants for joining the workshop. She said that knowledge is added by sharing and workshops and seminars are a right platform to learn from each other. She gave her best wishes to everyone for the success of the workshop.
