
Amritsar, Feb 21 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Blood donation is one of the noblest and greatest donations a man can make. To promote this virtue in its students, DAV International School organized a programme on its premises. The team of Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, Amritsar including Dr. Neeraj Sharma (Professor & Head of the Department of Transfusion Medicine), Ms. Jagdeep Kaur (Counsellor) and Sardar Gurdeep Singh (Data Entry Operator) were the distinguished guests on the occasion.
The program commenced with the auspicious lamp lighting ceremony. Principal Anjana Gupta accorded a floral welcome to the worthy guests. The music team of the school presented a melodious welcome song. Dr. Neeraj Sharma, in her address to the students, emphasized on the importance of blood donation. She also clarified the various doubts and myths associated with the donation of blood.
The school had organized Poster-Making and Declamation Competitions for the students of IX and X and three best entries of both the competitions were awarded prizes by the team of guests from the Guru Nanak Dev Hospital. Aashna (IX), Navnivan (IX) and Kashish Aggarwal (X) were given prizes for Poster-Making and Samridhi Sharma (IX), Yashika Mittal (IX) and Hargun Singh (X) were given prizes for Declamation. The Programme ended with the singing of National Anthem.
