Workshop On Disaster Management held at DAV Public School

Amritsar, 3  May ( Jasbir Singh Saggu)-  DAV Public School, Lawrence Road organized a workshop on Disaster Management in the school. The workshop was conducted by Sh. Surjit Sharma, honorary Deputy Chief Warden of Civil Defence and Master Trainer of Disaster Management by NIDM. It dealt with the preparedness of dealing with a disaster and alleviating its effects. He also talked  about various techniques and strategies to be adopted in case of a disaster to safeguard both life and property.He also made us familiarize with three types of disasters–natural , manmade and Hybrid. he real cause is–increased necessities lead to disaster. He also suggested  measures to be adopted for school safety. He stressed to train teachers and students to tackle any type of disaster.

                Regional Director Amritsar Zone Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Principal BBK DAV College for Women, Lawrence Road , Amritsar and the Manager of the school Dr. K.N. Kaul Principal DAV College , Hathi Gate  applauded the  efforts  of the school for arranging such a workshop. They said it was the need of the hour to be prepared for any such calamity at all times. Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school thanked Sh. Surjit Sharma for his informative lecture.  She presented a token of gratitude to the  guest and said that it was very important to have the infrastructure for dealing  with emergency situations. It becomes pertinent in case of a school for the safety of the students.
