Caption Writing Contest jointly organized by Deptt. of Mass Communication and Department of English

Amritsar, Mar. 9 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Department of Mass Communication and Video Production and Department of English jointly organized Caption Writing Contest at DAV College Amritsar on March 9, 2016. This event was organized under the guidance of Prof Sunil Sachdeva, Head Department of English and Registrar of the College and Prof Arif Nazir, Head Department of Mass Communication and Video Production.

Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar congratulated both the departments for their efforts in organizing such intellectual events. He added that we all humans are considered as thinking beings and it is only our writing skills that make complete man.  He said that College is continuously taking initiative for organizing such erudite events for overall development of students. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Sunil Sachdeva congratulated students and appreciated their enthusiasm for participation in such Contests.  He added that such cognitive activities help in testing the imagination of students and improving their speaking and writing skills. Prof Arif Nazir, while addressing the students told them about the importance of understanding the deeper meaning behind every Photograph. He added that every one photograph means thousand words. So caption should always be catchy, to the point and expressive. He also encouraged students for their extra ordinary performance during the event. Dr Samriti Aggarwal, Prof Sania Marwaha, Prof Navjot Kaur, Prof Sourav Sharma, Prof Vani Sharma, Prof Aanchal Sharma, Prof Puneet Kaur and Prof Saundarya Kochar were also present during the event.
