Annual Sports Meet held at Khalsa College

Amritsar, Mar. 10 (Dharmender Singh Rataul) – A colourful annual sports meet was organized at Khalsa College, here today in which the students both boys and girls competed in various sports competitions. The athletics weas the main attraction of the two day long program which was inaugurated by Khalsa College Governing Council (KCGC) honourary secretary Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina along with Principal Dr.Mehal Singh. Apart from the winners of the various events today, the sportsperson of the College who have won accolades in inter-college, inter-university and national events were honoured during the function at the picturesque sports ground. In total 104 students represented in the inter-varsity competitions in the last one year, said Dr.Mehal Singh.  In athletics, the races, shot put, long jump, cycle race, marbles race, musical chair, sack races were organized in which the students participated   with enthusiasm. In 200 meters (boys) race Balraj was first, Jugraj was second and Dharamveer third while in 100 meters (girls) race Sunita Rani was first, Nirmal Kaur Second while Anuradha Thakur was the third. In the long jump, Sunita Rani was first, Jamuna second and Arshdeep kaur was third while in 200 meters (girls) race Sunita Rani was first, Lakhwinder Kaur second and Jamuna was third. Principal Dr.Mehal Singh thanked the team of physical education department, headed by Dr.Daljit Singh for organizing the event meticulously. He said the sports infrastructure has been strengthened in the college in the last one year and sportspersons have shown great achievements in this regard.
