Young DAVIANS showcased the significance of numbers

Amritsar, Mar. 11 (Punjab Post Bureau)- On the occasion of Annual Day celebrations on 11th March,16, the tiny tots of Pre- Nursery and Nursery sector of DAV International School mesmerized the audience with their presentation reflecting the importance of numbers. The school was decked up for the occasion. Sh. Harwinder Singh Sandhu, P.P.S., A.D.C.P, City-I Amritsar was the Chief Guest of the day. The celebration commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony. Principal Anjana Gupta welcomed the guests with bouquets. She in her welcome speech, said that every child is a bundle of special caliber which needs to be recognized by the teachers as well as parents.  She said that home is the first school where children learn values and school is the place where through the means of different educational programs this learning is enhanced. Through the cultural program, 355 students exhibited the significance of numbers. They showed by the means of numbers that God is one and so are we Indians. Two are our eyes, ears, hands and feet. Three stands for the tricolour and four for Vedas. Four are the seasons and directions. Number Five shows the five elements of world whereas seven depicts the colours in rainbow. Eight are the planets in solar system. Nine are the forms of Maa Durga and ten are the incarnations of Lord Vishnu. Chief Guest Mr. Harwinder Singh applauded the efforts of the tiny tots and said that children are the future of India. The kind of education they receive today will direct them for a better future.He praised the teachers for their toiling efforts and guidance. Dr. NeelamKamra appreciated the students for their hard work and wished them good luck for future. On this ocassion, Mrs. Nirmal Gupta, Mr. Mohinder Singh, Mr. InderpalArya, Dr. K.S Manchanda, Principal Mukeshshalet, Mr. SatnamSingh, Mr. Sameer Sharma, Mr. Pawan Sharma and parents of the students were also present. Principal Anjana Gupta honoured the Chief Guest with a memento. The day concluded with National anthem.
