KCW to Start Two New Courses with 1.85 UGC Grant

Amritsar, 5 May (Punjab Post Bureau)- Khalsa College for Women (KCW) will start two new bachelor degree professional courses namely Retail Management and IT and Fashion Styling and Grooming from current academic session. This has been facilitated by University Grants Commission (UGC)’s special grant of Rs.1.85 crore to the College for the purpose. KCW Principal Dr.Sukhbir Kaur Mahal stated in a press statement that UGC has sanctioned the grant for the new courses which would be helpful to the students who want to pursue the courses which otherwise were available only in the big cities. She said the grant will be available jointly to PG Department of Computer Science & PG Department of Commerce. “It is matter of great pride that our College, which is a premier education institution for the girls in the region, had been issued the huge grant. These two departments which will run the new courses jointly are already running five master degree programs M.Sc. (IT), M.Sc. (CS), M.Com, PGDCA, PGDFS and a large number of  bachelor degree programs including BCA, B.Sc. (IT), BBA, B.Com (R) and B.Com (P). Dr.Mahal said Fashion Styling and Grooming course will be initiated at PG Department of Fashion Designing, already successfully running B.Sc Fashion Designing.
