GNDU organized NSS Camp at Ludhar Village

Amritsar, 21 April (Punjab Post Bureau) – A seven-day NSS Camp was organized at village Ludhar (an adopted village by GNDU) by Guru Nanak Dev University College, Verka. During this camp, volunteers carried out various activities which included cleanliness of village streets, drains, leveling of compound of Primary and Middle School in the village, besides conducting a social and economic survey of the village.

Prof. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Registrar was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Prof. Dhillon gave an outline of the scheme under which the University has adopted village Ludhar for overall development. He exhorted the village Panchayat to come forward with their problems so that the government under the initiative of Chief Minister could develop the village on modern lines. Apart from Deputy Director Dairy, District social security and women affairs officers and a large number of officials of the govt. of Punjab were present.

Dr. Harish C. Sharma, Principal of GNDU College Verka thanked Vice-Chancellor Prof. A.S. Brar, Registrar Prof. Dhillon and village Panchayat for conducting this camp. Dr. Rupinder Preet Kaur, NSS co-ordinator gave an outline of NSS scheme and motivated the villagers to draw maximum benefit out of it. It is worth mentioning that in the duration of camp Pragati Sheel Rangmanch, a theatre group of college staged two plays on different occasions. Zain and Shamdeep, NSS volunteer presented the report of the camp.
