Lance Havildar Davinder Singh cremated with full Military Honour

Jalandhar, 20 Aug. (Punjab Post Bureau) –  Lance Havildar Davinder Singh of 17 SIKH, who was got injured in a fierce gunfight close to the line of control in Machhil Sector of Jammu and Kashmir on 8^th  Aug 2016 succumbed to injuries and died on 19 Aug 2016. The Non Commissioned Officer had received three gunshot wounds and was under treatment at Army’s Referral and Research Hospital, New Delhi.

Lanch Havildar Davinder Singh’s last rites were performed with full military and state honours.  Maj Gen Deepak Dhanda, Chief of Staff Vajra Corps, Shri KK Yadav, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar, other senior military, civil dignitaries and leaders from various political parties paid the tributes to the martyr. The individual was part of the operation launched near Line of Control following information about presence of militants in the area in which three Border Security Force (BSF) men and one militant were killed and two army personnel were injured as the two sides exchanged the fire.
