Guru Nanak Dev University constituted anti-ragging committee

Amritsar, Sept. 14 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Prof. A.S. Brar, Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University constituted anti-ragging committee at the University level to curb the menace of ragging in the University. Prof. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Registrar said that committee includes Vice-Chancellor as Chariman; Dean Academic Affairs as Member and Dean Student’s Welfare as Convener.  He said that committee also includes Naib Tehsildar, Amritsar-2 as nominee of Deputy Commissioner; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Police, Crime, Amritsar City as nominee of SSP; Renowed NGO from Amritsar, Dr. Inderjit Kaur, Chairman, Bhagat Puran Singh, All India Pingalwara Society, Amritsar; one journalist from Amritsar, Mr. Neeraj Bagga (Tribune); representative of non-teaching staff, President; representative of faculty, Prof. Mandeep Kaur, Commerce Department; one member of students’ representative body (male & female each) from SRB Body; Mr. Suhail Singh Sullar of LLB (FYIC) 1st Sem Law Department and Ms. Simranpreet Kaur of B.Arch 1st Sem. Architecture Department as member of first year student (male & female each); parents of two senior students named Sh. Harjeet Singh & Sh. Sant Kumar Sharda and parents of two freshers named Sh. Tirath Singh & Sarabjeet Singh.
