Zonal Youth Festival of Educational Colleges inaugurated at GNDU

ppn0110201613Amritsar,  October 1 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Zonal Youth Festival of Educational Colleges was inaugurated here today in the Dashmesh Auditorium of the Guru Nanak Dev University. As many as 500  students-artists from 21 Education Colleges are participating in 22 items of Music, Theatre, Dance, Literary & Fine Arts. This festival would be concluded on October 3.
Sh. Shakti Sagar Bhatia, Senior Town Planner, Amritsar formally inaugurated this festival by lighting the candles. Sh. H.S. Tinna, Incharge, Bhai Lalo Construction Department of the University was the guest of honour. Dr. Jagjit Kaur, Director, Youth Welfare Department welcomed the chief guest and others. She gave details of the achievements of Youth Welfare Department.
Sh. Bhatia said that   these Youth Festivals would  teach us how to face difficulties and behave in society and also associate us with rich culture and heritage . He also appealed the students to respect  their  elders and spend some quality time with them.
Sh. Tinna said that student life is very important part of our lives. He said that student should particitpate in these type festivals for their overall development. Dr. Jagjit Kaur also honoured Chief Guest and guest of honour with mementos.
Today, the festival was started with the item of Skit followed by Mimicry, Costume Exhibition, Geet/Gazal, Folk Song, Painting, Cartooning, Poster-Making and Clay Modeling, Collage, Painting Still Life, Sketching and Slogan Writing
On October 2 the competitions of Group Shabad/Bhajan, Group Song (Indian), Elocution, Poetical Symposium, Rangoli and Phulkari will be organized. On the last day i.e. October 3, the competitions of Quiz Prelimnary, Gidha and Debate followed by prize distribution function will be organised.
