Ph.D Classes Rolls on at Khalsa University, 134 students clear rigorous entrance

Amritsar, October 10 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The classes for various disciplines of Ph. D program today commenced at Khalsa University campus. The 134 students finally emerged successful in the rigorous written tests and interviews as in total 205 had applied for the course and they took part in the inaugural classes here. Vice Chancellor Dr.SS Chahal who commenced the classes with his own lecture to the students emphasised the aim of the varsity to focus on research. He said the classes for the almost all the subjects including the Agriculture, Engineering, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, Law, Nursing, Pharmacy has been opened.

VC accompanied by Director Research Dr. RK Dhawan said that it was the dream of the founding fathers of the historic Khalsa College Governing Council to have its own University, which was realized a few months back following the passage of the Khalsa University Bill-2016 in Punjab assembly. “We are thankful to Chancellor Satyajit Singh Majithia and pro-chancellor RMS Chhina for efforts they made to incorporate the varsity and their determination to make it a success’’, said Dr.Chahal. He congratulated the students for the inaugural class and said he hope that the research scholars would take maximum advantage of the faculties and infrastructure and dedicate themselves to the research oriented programs.
