Amritsar, October 22 (Punjab Post Bureua)- The students of DAV Public School, Lawrence Road paid a special tribute to a great freedom fighter in the Indian Independence Movement, Ashfaqulla Khan, on his 113th Birth Anniversary . He was also a noted Urdu poet who wrote beautiful couplets and ghazals with the pen name of Hasrat. He was hanged at a very young age of 22. The students of the school remembered this great hero by narrating the incidents from his life that how with a body of iron and a will of steel, he dedicated everything to the service of India. The students also recited poems and sang patriotic songs to pay homage to this great soul. Regional Director Punjab Zone A Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and Manager of the school Dr. Rajesh Kumar appreciated the efforts of the students for remembering such a great freedom fighter who sacrificed his life for the cause of his motherland. Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school also paid tribute to Ashfaqulla Khan ji and said that he has left a lasting impression on the life of every Indian by his noble martyrdom.
