Amritsar, October 25 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Chess team of BBK DAV College for Women won GNDU Inter-College Chess Championship held at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. College won this trophy fourth time in 9 row by defeating DAV College, Jalandhar as well as SR Govt. College, Amritsar and having a draw with HMV College, Jalandhar. Ms. Rhythem Bhatia of the college was also selected to represent GNDU team for North Zone Intervarsity Championship to be held at Hisar. Other team members were Ms. Devika, Ms. Yamini, Ms. Reva & Ms. Jyoti.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the young achievers and motivated them to maintain their performance in future as well. She added that the college players have always made a mark in various championships and, as a result, BBK DAV is a forerunner in sports. Mrs. Sweety Bala, Head, Department of Physical Education, along with other faculty members, felicitated the players on their achievements.
