Amritsar, October 26 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Judo team of BBK DAV College for Women won GNDU Inter-College Judo Championship held at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. College team gave a splendid show by defeating HMV College, Jalandhar, Khalsa College, Amritsar, Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar, GNDU Campus, Bebe Nanki College, Dhariwal, BD Arya College, Jalandhar (Cantt.), SSM College, Dinanagar, Layallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar and GN Khalsa College, Sultanpur Lodhi.
Ms. Navneet Kaur & Ms. Navroop Kaur of the college were also selected for All India Intervarsity Championship which is going to be held at Kurukshetra University from 3rd to 7th November 2016. Other team members were Ms. Navroop Kaur, Ms. Manpreet, Ms. Navneet Kaur, Ms. Prabhjot Kaur, Ms. Sandeep Kaur, Ms. Monika & Ms. Sukhjinder Kaur. Ms. Navroop Kaur represented India team in Jr. Asia Cup in 2015.
Principal Dr. Pushpinder Walia congratulated the young achievers and motivated them to maintain their performance in future as well. She added that the college players have always made a mark in various championships and, as a result, BBK DAV is a forerunner in sports. Mrs. Sweety Bala, Head, Department of Physical Education, along with other faculty members, felicitated the players on their achievements.
