20th Annual Conference of e Indian Political Economy Association at GNDU from Nov. 4 – 6

Amritsar, November 3 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The 20th Annual Conference of The Indian Political Economy Association (IPEA) shall be hosted by the Guru Nanak Dev University from 4th to 6th November 2016. The Conference is being organized by the Punjab School of Economics of the University and shall have deliberations on important themes, viz., (i) Livelihood and Citizenship Crises in the Third World (ii) Development in the Theories of Political Economy (iii) Labour and Peasant Movements in India.

The Conference shall be attended by stalwarts, scholars and young researchers of this field. More than 100 delegates will attend the conference and deliberate on the three themes of the conference. Prof. C.P. Chandrasekhar of the Centre for Economic Studies & Planning of the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi – A renowned Economist shall give his keynote address and Prof. (Dr.) A.S. Brar, Vice-Chancellor, Guru Nanak Dev University, shall give his Presidential address in the Inaugural Session of the Conference in the Auditorium Hall of the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan of the University.

“The Indian Political Economy Association strives to promote democratic, participative and non-hierarchical academic culture. And this Conference is a meaningful step in this direction,” said  Prof. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Registrar, Guru Nanak Dev University and Organizing Secretary of this Annual Conference. Prof.Paramjit Nanda and Prof.J.S.Sekhon are the conveners of the Conference.
