Amritsar, November 3 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The NSS Unit I of the Law Department and NSS Unit II of the University organized a blood donation camp in association with the Blood Bank of Guru Nanak Dev Hospital on the University campus. This camp was sponsored by HDFC Bank, Amritsar. A blood donors’ directory was also prepared on the occasion. Nearly 300 students registered themselves for blood donors directory and 170 UNITS of blood was donated by students at the camp.
Prof. Dr. Sharanjit Singh Dhillon, Registrar, Prof. Dr. K S Kahlon, Dean Student Welfare were chief guest and guest of honor respectively. They interacted with all the students and encouraged them for such type of activities in future too. They also appreciated the prompt response of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. A.S. Brar in encouraging such activities of the students on the campus by providing all necessary administrative support for organizing the camp.
Both applauded the various volunteer services carried out throughout the year by students under the guidance of NSS Coordinator Prof. HS Gujral , programme officers Dr. Rajesh Kumar and Ms. Harkirandeep Kaur. Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Head and Professor of Guru Nanak Hospital, Amritsar along with Dr. Ravi Mahajan along with their colleagues got the blood donation exercise completed successfully.
