
Jalandhar, November 11 (Punjab Post Bureau)- A three days youth festival “Youth Fiesta-2016”, to promote interaction between five professional colleges of AWES (Army Welfare Education Society) under Western Command culminated at Army College of Nursing, Jalandhar Cantt. Maj Gen Balwinder Singh, Chief of Staff Vajra Corps and Chairman, Army College of Nursing was the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony which was attended by senior officers and civil dignitaries. The youth festival is an annual meet conducted on rotation basis amongst Army College of Nursing, Jalandhar Cantt, Army Institute of Law, Mohali, Army College of Medical Sciences, Delhi Cantt, Army Institute of Management & Technology, Greater Noida and Army Institute of Education, Greater Noida. During the event, 125 students of these colleges participated in various sports, literary and cultural activities.

The closing ceremony witnessed an extravagant cultural show based on the theme “Cultural Heritage”. The Chief Guest appreciated the efforts put by these institutes in the overall development of students and awarded the trophies of best Institute in Cultural Event to Army Institute of Education, Greater Noida, Best Institute in Sports Events (Boys) to Army Institute of Law, Mohali, Best Institute in Sports (Girls), Best Institute in Literary Event and Best Institute in Institutional Presentation to Army College of Nursing, Jalandhar Cantt.
