
Amritsar, November 11 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School, Lawrence Road today paid obeisance to the first Guru of the Sikhs, Guru Nanak Dev ji on his birth anniversary. The saintly scholar had always preached for brotherhood and justice. His teachings show the path to spiritual salvation and inspire us to embrace equality, compassion and humanism. The students sang devotional Shabads from his sacred Bani. They also read ‘Sakhis’ of Guru Nanak Dev ji in the assembly inspiring the students to walk on the path of truthfulness, benevolence and charity. Students also recited poems and read articles based on the spiritual life of Guru ji. They also pledged to tread the path shown by him .
Regional Director Amritsar Zone, Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra Amritsar and the Manager of the school, Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Principal DAV College Amritsar sent their best wishes for the students on this auspicious occasion. They added that we must follow his path and break free from the shackles of social discrimination and have faith in the eternal God. The Principal of the school, Mrs. Neera Sharma, also gave her best wishes to the students and the staff and advised them to follow the teachings of the great Guru and live a simple life with high ideals.
