GNDU launches Student Feedback Portal to strengthen Teaching-Learning Mechanism

Amritsar, November 11 (Punjab Post Bureau)- Prof. Ajaib Singh Brar, Vice-Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University launched the Student Feedback Portal here today in the committee room of the Vice-Chancellor’s office. The main objective of the portal is to obtain the mid-semester and end-semester feedback from the students regarding the course content and the concerned teacher so that the overall teaching-learning mechanism is more strengthened in the university. The portal was developed with the efforts of Mr. Bhupinder Singh, System Manager and Mr. Tirath Singh, Incharge Computer Center.

 Prof. Brar applauded the efforts of Internal Quality Assurance Cell and Computer Centre for timely completion of this project. He said this is a unique initiative of its kind in the region to more improve teaching and learning.

Prof. Navdeep Singh Sodhi, Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) briefed the audience about the utility of the portal and pointed out that this is an essential element of quality assurance. The main purpose of this project is to use the technology for monitoring and improving the teaching standards in the University. He said that this portal will reduce the burden of manual analysis and recordkeeping of paper-filled feedback forms. This portal will automatically generate feedback report of each course which will sum up students’ perception of the course’s strengths and weaknesses.

. On this occasion, Prof. S.S. Dhillon, Registrar, Prof. J.S. Sekhon, Professor Incharge (Examinations), Prof. Avinash Nagpal, Director (Capacity Enhancement Programme), Prof. Raminder Kaur, Prof. Incharge (Publication Bureau), Prof. Sudha Jatinder (All India Services Pre-Exams Training Centre), Prof. Subodh Kumar, Dean (Alumni Association), Prof. Hardeep Singh, Dr. Swati Methta, Assistant Director (IQAC) and Dr. Gagandeep Kaur Gahlay Assistant Director (IQAC) were also present.
