
Amritsar, November 12 (Punjab Post Bureau) – DAV Public School, Lawrence Road paid homage to the beloved Chacha of Children Pt. Jawahar Lal Nerhu the first Prime Minister of free India to mark his birth anniversary which is celebrated as Children’s Day on 14th November, 2016. The day commemorates Pt. Nehru’s affection for children and his belief that children are the future of the country and if they are nurtured properly and educated well, the country’s future will be bright.
To make the day, the morning assembly was conducted by the teachers. The teachers sang inspiring songs for the students. They recited poems and informed the students about the relevance of the day. Through well chosen songs and poems, the teachers gave the message of imbibing values of honesty, brotherhood and sacrifice. They gave the message of blending ones rights with the duties in an effective way for a rightful living. Entertaining the students through folk songs the teachers sensitised and encouraged them to live in harmony and spread happiness around. Keeping in mind the loss of young lives at DAV Public School Attari.
Regional Director Punjab Zone – A, Dr. (Mrs.) Neelam Kamra and the Manager of the school, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Principal DAV College Amritsar sent their blessings for the students on this occasion. Dr. Neera Sharma, Principal of the school congratulated the students on their day. She added that the day was special but it also brought responsibilities with it. Students must imbibe values of sacrifice, brotherhood, tolerance and move ahead to make the country shine on the global front. She asked the students to be focussed and try to extract as much knowledge as they can from their teachers and grow into a responsible adult making the school proud.
