Amritsar, 23 November (Punjab Post Bureau) – A two-day 31st Seminar on “Guru Nanak Bani : Foundational source of Applied Ethics” was concluded here today in the Auditorium of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan of Guru Nanak Dev University. The seminar was organized by Guru Nanak Studies Department of the University. During these days presented papers covered various fields of Applied Ethics such as Political Ethics, Industrial Ethics, Legal Ethics, Business Ethics, Environmental Ethics and Bio Ethics.
On concluding day, the scholars emphesised that we need to follow the teachings from the Guru Nanak Bani to get rid of declining of ethical values in this era. They said two technical sessions were held which were headed by Prof. Jaspal Kaur Kaang, Panjab University, Chandigarh and Dr. Gurnam Singh Sanghera. Professors and Intellectuals from various Universities presented their research papers, among them were Prof. Sukhdev Singh, Prof. Shashi Bala, Dr. Pawan Kumar , Mrs. Sandeep Kaur, Manpreet Singh , Jaswinder Singh, Dr. Sarwan Singh, Amanpreet Singh and Smiley.
Dr. Mohubat Singh and Dr. Bharatbeer Kaur were the Co-Chairpersons and efficiently did their duties. The students and the audience were invited to ask questions which lead to inspiring scholarly discussions. Prof. Jaswinder Kaur Dhillon then presented the report on the seminar. In her report she appreciated the fact that the paper presented covered various fields of Applied Ethics. These topics included such as Political Ethics, Industrial Ethics, Legal Ethics, Business Ethics, Environmental Ethics and Bio Ethics. At the end, director of the seminar Dr. Manvinder Singh presented his vote of thanks to all the guests.
