Nabha Jailbreak- Deputy CM suspends ADGP (Jails), dismisses Jail Supdt. & Deputy Superintendent

Amritsar, Nov 27 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The Punjab Deputy Chief Minister, S. Sukhbir Singh Badal , who also holds the Home portfolio, has suspended ADGP (Jails) M.K. Tewari and dismissed Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent of Nabha jail in the Nabha jailbreak case in which some prisoners escaped from the jail. Reaching Amritsar last night, when the Deputy Chief Minister came to know of the incident he immediately ordered ADGP (Internal Vigilance) Prabodh Kumar to conduct an inquiry and also appointed an SIT under him. There would be another probe into the security lapses which would be conducted by the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Jagpal Singh Sandhu. Interacting with the media-persons, S. Badal said that the Punjab Police is sparing no efforts to track the fleeing prisoners who would be caught soon. He assured the people that police is totally vigilant and there is no need to panic. On the occasion, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Jagpal Singh Sandhu, DGP Suresh Arora, DGP Hardeep Dhillon, ADGP Dinkar Gupta, IG Naresh Kumar Arora, DIG Arun Kumar Mittal, Commissioner of Police Lok Nath Angra and other police officers were also present.
