Chandigarh, December 22 (Punjab Post Bureau)- The Punjab Government has made a policy of giving one time relaxation to deposit balance of the assets allotted by improvement trusts. Under the said policy the concerned individuals, who have purchased assets/properties from improvement trusts but have not been able to deposit full amount, have been accorded the opportunity to make the balance payments till 31st March, 2017. Disclosing this, the Local Bodies Minister, Punjab, Mr. Anil Joshi has said that this would be the final chance to make the payments. He also divulged that such persons who haven’t made the payments can deposit these till 31-3-2017 including interest, penal interest and deemed restoration charges and get their assets/properties regularized.
The Minister further said that the policy would be applicable on those cases only where the possession of the assets is with the purchaser even if the concerned assets are forfeited/ cancelled in the papers. The policy would not be applied on those cases wherein the possession of the assets has been taken over by the concerned improvement trust. Those individuals not availing the relaxation would face action as per law for which the executive officer of the concerned improvement trust would put up all the cases before the trust in the form of resolutions within a period of 3 months starting from 1.4.2017. In case of negligence about such matters, the concerned executive officer and other concerned employees would be liable for disciplinary action. The department has issued explicit instructions to the officers of improvement trusts to launch a special campaign to calculate the total balance payments outstanding (Till 31-1-2017, 28-2-2017 & 31-3-2017) and inform all the relevant/concerned persons within one month regarding this so as to enable them to make payments by the due date and take advantage of the scheme. The Minister also said that the scheme would benefit the common people on a large scale and also reduce the number of litigations.
