
Amritsar, 11 June (Jasbir Singh Saggu)- It was a matter of pride for the school to welcome a distinguished guest, Whitny M. Braun, Director of Centre for Sikhs Studies at Claremont, Lincoln University at Claremont California. She is on her maiden fact finding trip to Amritsar, with the intent of forming a unique 3 weeks course on Sikh studies for American Students. She was given a warm welcome by, Dr. Santokh Singh Vice President CKDCS and Dr. Dharam Veer Singh, Principal/ Director of the school. She observed various sports events which have been organized in the school in the summer camp during the summer break. There are about 14 sports activities organized in the school such as Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Taekwondo, Fencing etc. in which about 300 students are participating.She said that apart from academics, sports activities play a vital role in the complete development of a student’s personality. Dr. Santokh Singh and Dr. Dharamveer Singh honored Whitney M. Braun and thanked her for sparing her time to pay a visit to the school. Dr. Dharamveer Singh appreciated her efforts to educate awareness about the reason for the distinct identity of the Sikhs. She enjoyed the scintillating cultural programme organized by the sportspersons in the auditorium. The programme was attended by Dr. Gulzar Singh Kang professor from study of Guru Granth Sahib GNDU and S. Lakhbir S. Khiala Dy. Director sports CKDCS, Mrs. Amritpal Kaur (Supervisor) sports and Mrs. Nischint Kahlon (Headmistress).
