6th Annual Art and Craft Exhibition “UDAAN” held at DAV College

Amritsar, January 18 (Punjab Post Bureau)- PG Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, DAV College organized 6^th Annual Art and Craft exhibition “UDAAN” on 18^th January, 2017 at Arsh Auditorium. The event was inaugurated by Sh. Sudershan Kapoor, Chairman Local Managing Committee and Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar. The exhibition is an annual feature of Department of Computer Science and Information Technology in which students of Bachelor of Designing and Multimedia (BDMM) exhibit their creative work.

                                                In this exhibition the students displayed their handmade craft items made from wood, clay, thermocol, jute and paper mashie.  The items that were displayed during this exhibition include paintings, key holders made from wood, sceneries, handmade candles, tables, key chains, besides, the photographs by the students. Principal Dr Rajesh Kumar congratulated the department of Computer Science and IT for organizing such kind of events which involve students to showcase their talent and also help in their intellectual growth. Dr Amardeep Gupta, HoD, said that the students of BDMM worked hard to exhibit their artistic talent. Adding on he said that, they made innovative home utility items like Light shades, Hand bags and paintings with the usage of material like wood, clay, paper, jute, thermocol, wool etc. On this occasion, a short Film was also screened by students of BDMM named “We Are Lacking Somewhere”. This film was awarded 16^th rank in the category of the Swach Bharat Short Film Competition held by NFDC, Film Bazar on November 22-24, 2016. The event was organized by Prof Kapil Goel, Prof Ritu Arora and Prof Ritika under the supervision of Dr Amardeep Gupta. Besides Dr Daizy Sharma, Administrator, Dr BB Yadav, Staff Secrectary, Prof Vikram Sharma, Prof Sanjeev Dutta, Prof Harsimran Anand, Prof Balram Yadav, Prof Baljinder Singh, Prof Manik and other faculty members were also present.
