Amritsar, January 20 (Punjab Post Bureau)- A hands-on workshop and seminar on Basic Lifesaving Skills (BLS) was organized by a team of volunteer doctors from Government Medical College (GMC) guided by Dr. Raman Chatrath and Dr. Veena Chatrath under the ‘Each One Save One’ movement at D.A.V Public School, Lawrence Road.

The doctors effectively apprised the young students about the correct usage of simple emergency procedures such as Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) through Airway, Breathing, Circulation (ABC) and Circulation, Airway, Breathing (CAB) methods,for immediate paramedic aid to revive the victims of different age groups. The students were given training on dummies to know the various ways of coping up with patients in sudden trauma, drug overdose, fatal injury, cardiac arrest, snake bite, airway obstruction etc. Dr. (Mrs.) Neera Sharma (Principal) thanked the experts for a practical workshop and mobilizing the youth and announced that several successive workshop sessions shall be conducted for teacher and student sensitization. The GMC team thanked Mrs. Neera Sharma, Mrs Anju Gupta, Ms. Shama and Ms. Resham Sharma for making these interactive sessions possible and encouraged the formation of a Code Blue Team to handle any emergency on and off campus.
