All India Inter-University Fencing (M & W) Championship inaugurated at GNDU

Amritsar, January 21 (Punjab Post Burea) – All India Inter-University Fencing (M & W) Championships was inaugurated here today in Indoor Multipupose Hall of the Guru Nanak Dev University.  As many as 55 (M&W) teams comprising about 651 fencers of different universities from all over the country will participate in this championship. This championship would concluded on January 24. About 10 international fencers will also participate in this competition. Dr. H.S Randhawa, Deputy Director Sports & Head inaugurated these championships and gave the details about the activities of the Department. He said that the environment of sports becomes very competitive and challenging for the sportsmen so they focus on the challenges put in front. Physical beauty of the person involves in making the humanity of him. Playing sports help us in many ways all through the life, so students participate in sports activities alongwith their studies. Facing challenges of sports teaches us to tackle with other challenges of the life as well as survive in a competitive society, he added.
