Students of DAV College Amritsar Visited Doordarshan Kendra Jalandhar

Amritsar, February 18 (Punjab Post Bureau)- In order to have practical knowledge about Media World, Department of Mass Communication and Video Production organized one day educational tour for the students of BJMC- II to printing press Dainik Savera and Doordarshan Kendra, Jalandhar. This trip was organized under the guidance of Prof Sania Arora and Prof Vani Sharma. Principal Dr. Rajesh Kumar congratulated Dr. Arif Nazir Head department of Mass Communication and Video Production for taking such initiatives which give opportunity to students to explore and observe the challenges behind real media world. During the visit, students were acquainted about various techniques of printing and publication. They were also made familiar with basic qualities that are necessary for amateur journalists to become successful. Students were also motivated to read newspapers and also advised to stay active by writing letters to editors. Students also visited Doordarshan Kendra where they were made familiar about different stages of Production, different types of editing and technical equipments used for it. Students also got chance to visit newsroom and to deeply understand the concept of three point lighting system used in studios.
