EMC Hospital surrendered 1.5 Crore in Income Tax survey – Dr. Tarundeep Kaur

Amritsar, March 3 (Punjab Post Bureau) – The TDS range Ludhiana conducted A survey on the premises of M/s EMC Hospital Private Limited. The team was led by Prem Malik DCIT, under the supervision of Dr. Tarundeep Kaur, JCIT (TDS) Ludhiana. The survey was conducted because the said entity had accumulated huge defaults on TDS payments for the last few years and despite reminders,The defaults had not been corrected by the party and the TDS had not been deposited by them. The survey led to the surrender of 1.5 crore towards TDS payments and the cheque for the same was collected. Dr. Tarundeep Kaur said that the department was having the complete list of the defaulters and more strict action in the form of surveys and inspections shall be undertaken by the department on a daily basis. She also requested the taxpayers to themselves come forward to remove their defaults which are outstanding towards them by either filing correction statements or depositing the tax due so as to avoid any penal action or coercive action against them.
