GNDU organised National Seminar on the “Life & Philosophy of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji”

Amritsar, March 24 ( Punjab Post Bureau) –  Dedicating to the 350th birth anniversary of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, a National Seminar on the “Life & Philosophy of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji” as depicted in the Sanskrit Literature was organised by the Department of Sanskrit of the Guru Nanak Dev University in the conference hall of the university. As many as 120 delegates from the various parts of the country were participated. PPN2403201715Dr. R.K. Mahajan Dean, College Development Council inaugurated the seminar. In his inaugural address Dr.  Mahajan highlighted the multilingual aspect of Guru Ji with special reference to Sanskrit and Persian. He also said that Sanskrit is the mother of various languages. Dr. Lekh Ram Sharma in his keynote address focused on ‘Sanskrit Shryank Kavya’ of an Amritsar Poet Krish Kaur Mishr written 225 years ago. He also exemplified the scholarship of Guru Ji related to scriptures. Dr. Dev Datt Bhatti in his presidential address enumerated various qualifies of Guru Ji such as neither to run away nor to be frightened in life. In the last session, Dr. Mahesh Gautam in his valedictory address portraited Guru Ji’s proficiency in arms and scriptures.

As a Chief Guest in the valedictory session. Dr. Navdeep Singh Tung Dean Academic Affaris released two books i.e.:- 1. Panjabi Angrezi Shabdan Di Nedta written by Dr. Dalbir Singh Chahal & Dr. Vishal Bhardwaj 2. Bhashayi Antah Sabandh Evam Kahloori written by Dr. Lekh Ram Sharma.  Earlier, Dr. Dalbir Singh Chahal while welcoming the chief guest and others presented the achievements and future planning of the department. Dr. Chahal elaborated Guru Ji’s deep and sound knowledge of Sanskrit and its ancient literature.Dr. Renu Bala, Dean Languages presented vote of thanks. She introduced Sanskrit Kavyas, replete with high esteem & dedication towards Guru Sahiban, written on the “Life & Philosophy of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji.
