MP Aujla visited the sewerage lines laying site of JICA project

Amritsar, April 8 (Punjab Post Bureau) – Member Parliament from Amritsar Gurjeet Singh Aujla along with sewerage board officials, today visited the sewer lines laying site of JICA project at village Mahal to Radha Swami Dera, Ram Tirath Road and Gulmtala Bypass. Punjab Water Supply And Sewerage Board SC Arvind Mahajan, XEN Pankaj Jain, SDO Kulwant Singh and Ramesh Sehgal, Prem Sachdev from OCR Mohali were present during the visit. Officials informed that the completion date of this stretch of the project was Oct 2016 but due to the change in contracting company it is now rescheduled to March 2018. Officials further informed that they were facing some issues with the permissions from various departments. Aujla said that he has listened to the issues faced by the officials and agencies related to the project and has requested the Deputy Commissioner to constitute a coordination committee comprising of BSNL, PSPCL, PWD, Sewerage Board etc. so that all the departments related to this project may function in a smooth manner. He said that the locals have been suffering since long due to this delay but it will be assured that there may not be any further delay.
