MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla attended meeting of Standing Committee on External Affairs

Amritsar, 11 April (Punjab Post Bureau) – Member Parliament from Amritsar Gurjeet Singh Aujla today attended meeting of Standing Committee on External Affairs for the first time. The meeting was chaired by standing committee chairman MP Shashi Tharoor. PPN1104201716

          Vice president of AICC Rahul Gandhi is also one of the three members from Congress in this committee.  Aujla brought up certain issues related to Amritsar into the meeting. Establishment of International Skill Center in Amritsar was thoroughly discussed. Realization of the proposed Kartarpur Corridor at Dera Baba Nanak was also one of the issues raised by him. Other issues including the transportation of dead bodies of Indians lying at UAE were also discussed and a report is sought from the concerned departments. The issue of Indians stranded abroad due to lack of travel documents was discussed and an advisory to the consulates was also asked for.
